I. Essential Pre-Game Rules: Core Pitfalls to Avoid

Before you start, you MUST follow these three rules. Ignore them, and you'll absolutely crash and burn later from resource depletion or insufficient affection.

1. Ingredient gathering must be done personally. All monsters must be killed by the protagonist himself. This nets you two ingredients per kill. If you let the female knight kill them, you only get one. This is fatal in the late game.

2. Royal Castle visits are a hard requirement. To unlock the final option to save the Demon King, you MUST enter the Royal Castle a total of 6 times during the playthrough. Miss even one, and the option won't appear.

3. Master your save timing. Branching points are your lifeline. Especially moments involving "abandon" or "don't go with X"—always keep separate saves here. This makes it easy to backtrack and collect different H-scenes.

The Princess route requires 30 affection points.

3. 100% CG Collection Tips. To collect all those hardcore death CGs, choose NOT to save the Demon King at the end. You'll see the various despair H-scene endings for the Female Knight, Fron, and the Elf Twins.

IV. New Game+ Locks & Key Route Trigger Points

Shi-kan 2 has clear New Game+ progression locks. Don't waste time trying to enter inaccessible maps early on.

1. Map Unlock Conditions.
You absolutely CANNOT enter Clear Lake or Rocky Coast in the first three playthroughs. Don't doubt your playthrough—this is system-locked.
On the 5th playthrough, after triggering the Orc event in the Great Forest, you must visit the forest a second time to meet the Elf.

2. Character Survival Conditions.
Harubiru must survive first. Then visit the Royal Castle twice to see the Princess reading, and only then can you trigger the rescue event at the Mountain Path.
Fron appears in the Ruined Village on the 6th playthrough, but only after you've completed the Cyclops Girl storyline.

3. Demon King Route Safety Net. If your affection management is mediocre and you frequently leave him hungry, you'll naturally slide into the Demon King route. This is also the easiest ending to achieve.
