The brutal truth about roguelikes: one death sends you back to square one. You grind for hours, then one mistake wipes it all out. I've been through all the hell so you don't have to—confusing save mechanics, impossible bosses, missed CGs, wasted items. This guide breaks down the core gameplay completely, turning noobs into veterans instantly.

1. Deep Dive into Save System

This game's save logic is completely different from traditional games. Mastering it will save you dozens of hours.

1. Auto-Save Mechanism

The game auto-saves when entering new rooms, defeating bosses, or triggering cutscenes—but don't celebrate yet. These are just temporary checkpoints. Everything wipes on death—that's the roguelike essence.

2. Manual Save Backup

This is the real lifesaver.

1. Find the save folder, usually in your C: drive Documents. Specific path detailed below.

2. After clearing a floor or getting god-tier loot, immediately exit and copy save files to another folder.

3. When you die, paste the backup back to resurrect where you left off.

4. Remember to update the file timestamp—the system only recognizes the newest file.

3. Save File Location

PC version default: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\LocalLow\ScarletPaper\ThornSin\. Folder may be hidden—check "Show hidden items" in view options. Android version is usually in Android/data/ folder, requires file manager access.

4. Advanced Save Editing

Want to edit stats or unlock all CGs? Just modify the save file directly.

1. Open the save JSON file with Notepad.

2. Find the playerStats field—edit values freely.

3. To unlock CGs, search CG_unlock and change all false to true.

4. Always backup the original file first in case you break something.

2. Core Combat Survival Tips

image.png

This game is unplayable for casuals, but once you master these tricks, bosses become paper tigers.

1. Healing Mechanics

Only three healing methods: potions, fountains, and special events.

1. Press Q to drink potions—healing isn't instant, it has an animation. Find a safe spot.

2. Pure White Rooms after boss floors have fountains—one sip for full heal.

3. Some NPC events can heal but add Corruption—your choice.

2. Universal Boss Strategy

All bosses fear this tactic.

1. Don't be greedy—hit twice then dodge. This game has no stun protection.

2. Stand directly below bosses. When they attack, dodge behind them—100% skill evasion.

3. Thunder Set + Magic Damage. Jump under the boss's head and press jump again for double damage.

4. Greatsword parrying requires precise timing—newbies avoid this, easy to fail.

3. Plunging Attack

Press attack mid-air for plunging attacks. This can interrupt minor enemies but doesn't work on bosses. Double jump into plunging attack creates small AoE—perfect for clearing mobs.

3. Character Growth & Class Switching

Messed up your stat allocation? Want to change class? No problem.

1. Attribute Point Allocation

Level up = points. Wrong choices mid-game hurt badly.

1. Strength build: focus Attack and HP. Best for greatswords/heavy weapons.

2. Agility build: focus Dodge and Crit. Optimal for dual daggers.

3. Magic build: focus Mana and Spell Damage. Core for Thunder Set.

4. Don't spread points—specialize in one path to win.

2. How to Switch Classes

There's no explicit class system—changing weapons = changing class.

1. Buy new weapons from merchants. Each weapon type = combat style.

2. Greatswords break guards, daggers rapid-attack, staves for ranged.

3. Re-equip after weapon change—gear stats must match weapon.

4. Complete CG Collection Route

Mandatory for CG hunters—miss one and you'll need a new playthrough.

1. Forest Area

Floors 1-5: All minor enemies have defeat CGs. Don't kill them immediately—let them down you first, then counter for special CGs. Merchant spawns floors 2-5—talk and exchange, spend 500 gold for CG recall item.

2. Dark Forest

New scarecrow event—approach triggers bondage CG. Don't miss thorn chests—use double jump to grab safely for hidden CG fragments.

3. Ruined Town

Hounds and werewolves have special CGs—requires Purity build. Don't kill them, survive 3 minutes to trigger nursing scenes. Don't rush past the witch in White Rooms—repeat conversations for bathing CG.

5. Complete Item & Equipment Guide

Items are useless if you don't know how they work.

1. Core Items

1. Keys: Open chests and special doors. Gold keys open hidden rooms.

2. Potions: Restore HP/MP. Purple potions give temporary stats—don't hoard them.

3. Talismans: Thunder Talisman is the meta—works with Magic build for easy wins.

4. Outfits: Different outfits give different resistances. Swap before boss fights.

2. Equipment Upgrades

Upgrade at merchants with gold and materials. Prioritize weapons—damage is king. Armor to +3 is enough, higher is a waste.

6. Special Mechanics Explained

These mechanics are never explained officially—figuring them out takes days.

1. Breeding System

There's no traditional childbirth—"breeding" refers to events triggered when Lust value maxes out. Max Corruption? Find the Dark NPC. Max Purity? Find the Goddess Statue. Both trigger breeding scenes for permanent buffs.

Breeding Build Core Mechanics:

- Conception rate determined by relic combinations

- Mother status affects offspring spawn speed and stats

- Offspring auto-join battles but compete for kills

- Current version has fewer rooms but massively increased conception rate for speedrun pacing

2. Prostitution Mechanic

Can sell at merchant for 500 gold but massively increases Corruption, unlocking special CGs while lowering ending score. Don't bother for speedruns, mandatory for completionists.

3. Decensoring Method

No option in settings.

1. Download decensor patch, place in game root directory, overwrite files.

2. Use trainer to launch, press F12 for instant decensor.

3. Check version compatibility—0.74 and 0.65 patches aren't interchangeable.

7. Breeding/Pregnancy Build In-Depth

image.png

Current version's Tier 0 build—casual players' salvation

Post-update, the Breeding build became the meta—other builds can't compete. Super high conception rate plus faster relic acquisition means you can get pregnant in 3 attempts and cruise through the game. Best part? Zero skill required—except occasionally competing with offspring for kills, it's all auto-battle.

1. Core Relic Recommendations

This setup personally tested for 3-minute floor 4 speedrun—insanely efficient.

1. Twins: Must-have at start. Highest mother buff, doubles offspring spawn speed.

2. Mother's Breath: The absolute core. Without it, conception rate is halved—top priority.

3. Slime: Insta-buy if you have enough Corruption. Excellent lubrication effect, drastically reduces combat time.

4. Fertilization Wood: Best combo with Mother's Breath for one-shot conception.

5. Nipple Rings: Merchant simp route exclusive. Late-game normal attacks can stack to 50+ damage.

6. Max HP Increase Relics: For survival. Late-game backstabs hit for 40-50, need the HP buffer.

Special warning: High-risk sex is nerfed this version. Waste of money, less efficient than just pushing rooms.

2. Speedrun Pregnancy Guide for All Floors

Floor 1: Guaranteed pregnancy in Flower Chamber, but the nursing CG is mediocre. Note: Flowers, Mimic Chests, Iron Maidens can't nurse offspring—mechanical limitation. After getting high-risk sex, rush to shop.

Floor 2: One-shot conception on Pig Head boss is standard. Remember to unsheathe before beheading. Instantly corrupt at shop to buy Slime and Fertilization Wood. Bully Mimic Chest for ~6 attempts to conceive.

Floor 3: Experiment Subject instantly submits. With Mother's Breath, it's guaranteed within 3 attempts. Conquer Werewolf in ~3 attempts. Couldn't get Gardener offspring in v0.68, but for efficiency we must sadly execute the Gardener this time.

Floor 4: Key point—BOSS OFFSPRING CAN BE CONCEIVED! Mother's Breath takes ~3-6 attempts. Lowest difficulty mode with violent HP regen + offspring gangbang plus nipple ring synergy for 50+ damage per hit = 3 minute clear. But note: Floor 4 offspring are oviparous (egg-laying), very unique mechanic.

3. Breeding vs Virgin Build Comparison

Breeding Core Advantage: Has a relic that increases normal attack damage based on milk production. Late-game normal attacks stack to 40+ damage, plus a horde of children swarming enemies—unbeatable clear speed. Only downside is lower HP pool requiring positioning. Current version is too fast-paced with short development cycles—instantly unlocks all CGs with zero effort.

Virgin Core Advantage: Has a relic that increases max HP every floor. Late-game you easily hit hundreds of HP, ridiculously forgiving. Damage is trash but can face-tank everything—great for conservative players. However, development takes way too long; by the time you scale up, the game is over.

Conclusion: Personally recommend Breeding build—current version Tier 0. Fast relic acquisition, insanely powerful.

4. Floor 4 Final Boss Hidden Mechanic

Floor 4 boss room has a hidden mechanic: Because I bought the map item and went to boss room first, got pregnant, then rushed rooms, the result was 2 rooms short for offspring to spawn. Must leave enough rooms for offspring birth.

Even wilder: Floor 4's new ultra-rare Gardener—when encountered while carrying boss offspring, had to sadly execute again. Brilliant design by the devs. Also, Chastity Ring is obtainable after Floor 2 boss, grants immunity to arousal state. Pair with Purity build for massive backstab damage.

5. FAQ

1. Is the witch and three crosses between Floor 3-4 unfinished content? Currently not implemented.

2. On merchant simp route 5th CG (handjob), the simp stops simping—probably missed a hidden condition or hit affection cap.

3. Waiting for someone to post Floor 4 boss offspring images—afraid to check myself in case system censors it.

8. Settings Optimization & Troubleshooting

Blurry graphics? Can't fullscreen? I'll walk you through it.

1. Fullscreen Settings

In launcher settings, change window mode to fullscreen, resolution to native. In-game Alt+Enter also works but may crash—not recommended.

2. Changing Difficulty

Main menu settings have Easy/Normal/Hard. But changing difficulty in a roguelike is lame. Use trainer for god mode if you want easy mode.

3. Outfit Change Method

White Room has a wardrobe—press E to interact. Unlocked outfits must be purchased from merchant first. Some hidden costumes require specific CG triggers.

4. Viewing Recollection

Select Recollection from main menu—all triggered CGs are there. Locked ones show as "?". Some recollections need NG+ for full versions.

9. Steam Version FAQ

Why can't you find it? Because it's not on Steam.

1. Why It's Unsearchable

This is an indie studio game with content that won't pass Steam's review—too much prostitution and XXX content. Only available on third-party platforms or through... alternative sources.

2. Version Differences

If Steam ever had it, it'd be a censored version—all CGs cut, mechanics altered. For complete version, find v0.74+—most complete content.

3. Save Compatibility

Saves aren't cross-version compatible. v0.65 saves crash v0.74. Always backup old saves before upgrading.

Final honest words: This game is a roguelike ACT wearing a nun skin. Core value is CGs and XXX mechanics. Pure skill runs are possible but miss 80% of content. Use trainers when needed, read guides, don't torture yourself.
