After waiting a whole year, Sakura no Toki has finally been translated. This guide directly solves your biggest headache: the story lock issues. Many players get stuck before the true ending because they didn't follow the correct route order. The iron-clad sequence is Suzune → Makoto → Bad End → Blue Line (True End), and you cannot change it. I've marked all the key save points clearly. Follow this guide and you're guaranteed to unlock all CGs and that yuri scene. This is a pure walkthrough with zero fluff and no spoilers. Just follow the choices listed below.

Core Order & Important Notes

Let me lay down the iron-clad rule first. This game's story lock design is extremely rigid. You MUST follow the order: Suzune Route → Makoto Route → Bad End → Blue Line (True End). Miss one step and you won't reach the true ending. Chapters 1-2 have no choices at all. Just sit back and watch the story. Don't randomly skip, as some foreshadowing will be important later.

Route branching starts in Chapter 3. You must complete them one by one. After finishing Suzune's route, you need to manually save and unlock the Bad End, otherwise you won't complete your CG collection. The Bad End unlock conditions are painfully obscure—choose one wrong option and you'll go straight to the good ending. So I'll mark every critical decision point in red below. Also, the bonus yuri HCG between Yumi and Rina in Chapter 5 unlocks automatically with no choices required. Just watch it seriously—it's high-intensity from start to finish.

Suzune Route Walkthrough

Suzune's route has many choices, but only a few are critical—the rest are just atmosphere options that don't affect the ending. You need to pay special attention to two mandatory save locations: one for unlocking the Bad End, and one for CG collection.

Critical Choice Flow:

1. "I don't think that's a good idea......." (Shows the protagonist's hesitation)

2. "I love this shop's taiyaki, thanks" (Daily interaction choice)

3. "Your drawing skills will keep improving" (CRITICAL—must choose this)

4. "Oh......." (Transition dialogue)

5. "The principal....will really get angry?" (Plot advancement)

6. "What should I do" (Continues progression)

7. "Probably unrelated to what we're talking about now" (Foreshadowing payoff)

8. "I think I understand now......." (Deeper character understanding)

9. "Let her pet the cat next time" (CRITICAL—prerequisite for Bad End)

10. NOTE: Save here to unlock Bad End

11. "Don't look" (Save here to collect CG)

After reaching Suzune's ED, return to the save point and choose "Even so → I want you to wear it" to unlock two additional HCGs. Load the save again and choose "Understood" to unlock one more HCG. That's all for Suzune's full collection—don't miss any.

Makoto Route Walkthrough

Makoto's route is more straightforward than Suzune's, but still has several critical choices you can't get wrong. The climax is at the principal's plot and the room choice—pick wrong and you won't unlock Makoto's exclusive scenes.

Critical Choice Flow:

1. "It's not like I can't do it" (Attitude shift)

2. "Indeed" (Affirming the other person)

3. "Your drawing skills will keep improving" (CRITICAL—same importance as in Suzune's route)

4. "Ah, no thanks, I haven't eaten yet" (Declining invitation)

5. "Well, I am a bit tempted" (Inner conflict)

6. "I'm quitting, okay?" (Testing threat)

7. "Something happened that scared this principal" (Core plot point)

8. "No, probably not because of that" (Reasoning process)

9. "Let her sleep in my room" (NEW option—core of Makoto's route)

Remember to save your cleared data after finishing Makoto's route—it's one of the requirements for unlocking the Blue Line. Makoto's CGs are concentrated, so as long as you get all choices right, you can collect them in one go without repeated loads.

How to Unlock Bad End

The Bad End trigger is hidden in Suzune's route—most players miss it on their first playthrough. You MUST choose "Let her pet the cat next time" in Suzune's Chapter 10, then later choose "State my own thoughts" during progression to enter the Bad End.

Bad End Flow:

1. Return to Suzune's Chapter 10 save point

2. Choose "Let her pet the cat next time"

3. Continue until branching point

4. Choose "State my own thoughts"

5. Bad End achieved

You must clear the Bad End once to fully unlock the Blue Line—this design is honestly sadistic, but that's how the developers set it up. There's a special CG in the Bad End, so remember to save before the final scene starts.

Blue Line True Ending

image.png

Chapter 4 unlocks after clearing Suzune, Makoto, and Bad End routes. Chapter 4 has no choices—just enjoy the story as it sets up the final chapter.

Chapter 5 is the Blue Line True Ending. There are no choices here—it's a full cinematic experience. The developers packed it with foreshadowing payoffs and character growth moments. Don't skip anything. After clearing, you'll unlock the yuri HCG between Yumi and Rina. This scene has no warning—it's high-intensity from the start. I recommend watching it complete when you have privacy.

The final chapter's ending song and CG quality are the highest in the entire game, especially that final panoramic CG with incredible detail. After clearing the Blue Line, special content will be added to the main menu where you can review all CGs and H-scenes.

Key Save Points Summary

image.png

Here's a summary of mandatory save locations so you don't have to remember them yourself:

1. Suzune's Chapter 10, before choosing "Let her pet the cat next time" (for Bad End)

2. Suzune's Chapter 10, before choosing "Don't look" (for CG collection)

3. Makoto's Chapter 8, before choosing "Let her sleep in my room" (prevent wrong choices)

4. Before Bad End's final scene (collect special CG)

5. Before Blue Line's final chapter (for post-clear backtracking)

Final reminder: This game takes about 15-20 hours to clear, and 25+ hours for full collection. You can skip read text to speed up, but I recommend watching everything on your first playthrough or you'll miss important story context. Have fun, and don't get stuck on that Bad End!
