EP1 is the foundation chapter of Mayfly. The choices here directly determine Nikita's first impression of you. If you wanna run Nikita route, you must follow this exact order. Mess up one step and your affection grind is doomed.

The Security Room is your first make-or-break node. Too many players waste time wandering and permanently miss Nikita's story trigger. You gotta go to Security Room first, no exceptions, non-negotiable.

1. Go to Security Room first

   When the map opens, don't wander around. B-line straight to Security Room. This triggers Nikita's exclusive scene. If you hit other locations first, this story point is perma-missed and you have to restart the whole run.

2. Agree with her

   When Nikita makes that request, don't you dare hesitate. Say yes immediately. Hesitation at this moment tanks her trust meter. The faster you agree, the bigger the affection bonus later.

3. (No impact)

   This choice is free. The system won't log your pick. No effect on story routes or affection. Just choose whatever you like.

4. Thank Nikita for her help just now

   You MUST choose the thank you option, this is the golden ticket for affection grinding. Nikita is the cold-outside-warm-inside type. When you actively show gratitude, she's secretly happy inside and you get +10 affection instantly.

5. Invite her as thanks

   After thanking her, you have to strike while the iron's hot and extend an invitation. Nikita will seem hesitant on the surface, but she's already agreed in her heart. This is a mandatory requirement to unlock later dating scenes.

6. Try today's special

   At the bar scene, Nikita will recommend the special cocktail. You absolutely must choose to try it. Refusing makes you a buzzkill and affection drops by 5. Choosing to try it gives +15 affection.

7. (Two options give +1 affection to Nikita/Jimin respectively)

   This is your branching point. Neither choice is wrong. Pick Nikita for Nikita route, pick Jimin for Jimin route. For multiple playthroughs, I recommend Nikita route first, then Jimin route second.

8. Tell the truth

   Never lie in this final option. Nikita absolutely despises liars. Telling truth gives +20 affection. Lying deducts 30. This gap is big enough to make you straight-up GG.

EP2 is the most gut-wrenching chapter in Mayfly. The conflict between Jimin and Nikita erupts completely here. Every choice you make is picking sides. Trying to please both is basically impossible, you have to make sacrifices.

EP2's core gameplay is choosing your camp. If you try to make both happy, you'll lose both. First playthrough, just stay loyal to one route.

1. Chat with her for a bit

   At the start when you meet Jimin, don't rush the main story. Chat first. This is a great affection grind opportunity for Jimin route players. Even Nikita route players should chat, or you'll seem cold.

2. Agree to her request

   Jimin will ask for help. Say yes. This option heavily impacts Jimin affection. Refuse and Jimin route is basically dead.

3. Go find Jimin

   This is the first major conflict point between Nikita and Jimin routes. The system gives you two choices: go find Jimin or stay with Nikita. Pick this for Jimin route. Nikita route players should NEVER choose this.

4. Tell the truth

   When Jimin asks you something, you must tell the truth. She'll see through lies. Jimin is sharp, lying resets affection to zero instantly.

5. Stand with Nikita

   Core option for Nikita route. If you wanna run Nikita route, don't pick "go find Jimin" above. Here you must firmly stand with Nikita. Only then will Nikita consider you one of her own.

6. Maybe she needs some care

   This option tests your understanding of Nikita. She seems tough on the outside but is fragile inside. Choosing to care gives +25 affection. Other options only give +5.

7. Split into pairs

   Grouping option. Choose whoever you wanna team with. This determines your next 30 minutes of gameplay. Pick according to your route target.

8. (Multiple choice - choose freely, no impact)

   The final options are just for fun. Choose whatever, the system won't log them. No impact on endings, so pick whatever you like without worry.

Mayfly Affection Points Mechanism Deep Dive

Mayfly's affection system is completely hidden. The game interface doesn't show numbers directly, but every option has a hidden score.

Nikita's affection threshold is 80 points. You must get every EP1 and EP2 choice correct to hit this number. Miss one option and you have to re-grind.

Jimin's affection threshold is relatively easier at 60 points. But Jimin route's later difficulty is very high. Getting early choices right doesn't guarantee clearing.

Key warning: This game has NO harem route. Don't even think about two-timing. The system forces you to choose one in Chapter 3. The other automatically goes to Bad Ending.
